It turns out Daryl Hall has a web site and does monthly eipsodes of having other artists drop by, hang out, and play music. I always figured Chromeo were big Hall & Oates fans from the sound of “Mama’s Boy” off their last album so learning they were this month’s guests was no suprise.
Even better, someone made mp3 tracks out of the performances and, well, it’s worth it to hear the vocoder on “Family Man.” Just click and enjoy.
Great idea, would love this on a DVD with some wicked commentary tracks (VJ’s, a writer from Rolling Stone, Thomas Dolby himself, etc.)
“Measured in terms of depravity, insularity and traffic-driven turnover, the culture of /b/ has little precedent.”
Wow. That’s some serious hyperbole there from the Old Grey Lady.
